Co-IP Optimized | Gentle Lysis | RUO | Interaction-Focused Extraction

What is RIPA-Interact  Cell Lysis Buffer (1X)?

Atheris Bio™ RIPA-Interact  Cell Lysis Buffer (1X) is a chemically defined lysis buffer designed for co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) and protein–protein interaction studies, where maintaining native interactions is important.

The formulation uses a milder detergent system to reduce disruption of protein complexes during extraction, supporting recovery of interaction partners for downstream analysis.

Key Benefits

  • Designed for protein–protein interaction studies
  • Gentle lysis conditions compared to standard RIPA buffers
  • Supports recovery of complex-associated proteins
  • Compatible with Co-IP and downstream Western blot workflows
  • Ready-to-use format for workflow consistency

Typical Applications

  • Co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP)
  • Protein–protein interaction studies
  • Signaling complex analysis

Compatibility

✔ Mammalian cell lysates
✔ Adherent and suspension cultures
✔ Co-IP workflows
✔ Western blot (downstream analysis)

Not recommended for:

  • Strong denaturing lysis requirements
  • Maximum membrane protein solubilization
  • Enzyme activity assays

Protein Quantification Compatibility

Assay Method Compatibility Recommendation
BCA Assay High ✅ Preferred
Bradford (standard) Moderate ⚠ May vary
Bradford (detergent-compatible) Moderate ✅ Acceptable
Lowry Assay Poor ❌ Avoid
A280 (UV) Poor ❌ Avoid

Note: Reduced ionic detergent improves compatibility compared to standard RIPA, though optimization may still be required.
